We are looking for an experienced Lubrication Technician to play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and longevity of industrial equipment. This position is responsible for executing lubrication and preventive maintenance tasks, performing equipment inspections, managing lubricants and fluids, supporting reliability initiatives, and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation while ensuring strict compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or technical trade certificate with a mechanical background.
  • 2+ years of experience in lubrication or mechanical maintenance within oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, or industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of lubrication fundamentals, including oil types, oil filtration, viscosity grades, grease selection, and contamination control.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, lubrication charts, and basic mechanical drawings.
  • Basic computer proficiency for CMMS data entry, reporting, and documentation.
  • Be fit to perform the essential functions of the job including working in an industrial work environment that may include loud areas, work around rotating equipment/operating equipment/heavy equipment, extreme temperatures, dust, work at heights, entry into confined spaces, and other potential chemical/atmospheric hazards that require use of appropriate PPE.
  • Requires ability to perform physical tasks including frequent walking, standing for extended periods of time, climbing ladders or stairs, and lifting or carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Lubrication Technician (MLT I/II or MLA I/II).
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, ultrasonic, thermography).
  • Familiarity with refinery and process equipment such as API pumps, cooling towers, blowers, compressors, and rotating machinery.
  • Experience managing lubrication routes and performing lubrication tasks in high-hazard industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform lubrication tasks on rotating and stationary equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, conveyors, and other refinery or process equipment.
  • Execute routine preventive maintenance activities such as greasing, oil changes, filter replacements, and flushing procedures.
  • Verify and apply correct lubricants in accordance with OEM recommendations and site standards.
  • Maintain proper lubricant storage, labeling, handling, and inventory practices to prevent contamination and ensure product integrity.
  • Conduct routine inspections of rotating equipment to identify signs of wear, leaks, abnormal temperatures, vibration, or lubrication deficiencies.
  • Collect oil samples for laboratory analysis and accurately document sampling data and test results.
  • Utilize condition monitoring tools such as infrared thermometers, ultrasonic devices, and vibration screening equipment.
  • Identify and report abnormal equipment conditions to the Maintenance or Reliability team for timely corrective action.
  • Support reliability and continuous improvement initiatives, including assisting with root cause analysis (RCA) of lubrication-related failures.
  • Update lubrication routes, preventive maintenance schedules, and equipment health records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as SAP or Maximo.
  • Assist with minor mechanical tasks, equipment alignment, and balancing activities as required.
  • Perform all work in strict compliance with site safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work requirements.
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of lubricants and chemicals in accordance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, incident reporting, and continuous safety improvement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
