Precision Mechanical Assembler Must be able to work onsite to provide maintenance services, including the installation, repair, replacement, and dismantling of machinery in a manufacturing environment. This hands-on role is essential in ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and safely, directly contributing to the overall productivity of Kimberly-Clark's operations.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
  • Education - High school diploma or GED equivalent (Grade 12 certificate).
  • Experience - 3-5 years of Journeyman-level experience in mechanical assembly.
  • Certifications/ Licenses: TDLR, NCCER, a valid Driver's License and TWIC Card.

Responsibilities

  • Replace defective parts of machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Position steel beams to support bedplates of machines and equipment using blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to set specified clearances.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units using hand tools and power tools.
  • Assemble machines, bolt, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundations or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Lay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with power drills.
  • Bolt parts such as side and deck plates, jaw plates, and journals to basic assembly units.
  • Level bedplates and establish centerlines using straightedges, levels, and transit.
  • Dismantle machines use hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
