The Precision Assembler assembles parts to specifications and drawings utilizing proper tools and equipment to meet time and quality standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ensures parts used in assembly are correct, functional, and of high quality. May need to remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce required fit between parts. Visually inspects assembled parts for defects and informs supervisor if defects are found. Looks for assembly or process improvements that result in increased quality and/or productivity. Assists in development and maintenance of assembly methods, including assembly drawings, bill of materials and written procedures. Makes proper use of equipment and tools for assembly and inspection. Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with co-workers, management, and outside contacts. Seeks out additional duties as needed.
