About The Position

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a full-time Pre-Sentence Re-Entry Coordinator to join our dedicated team, providing outpatient therapy to individuals involved with the criminal justice system. Based at the Arapahoe County Jail, the coordinator will work closely with inmates who screen positive for substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, with a focus on high jail utilizers. This role is crucial in helping inmates set recovery goals that align with their justice system requirements, thereby increasing their chances of successful reentry. As part of our supportive Jail-Based Behavioral Health Services (JBBHS) team, you will leverage your strengths and collaborate to enhance the well-being of this nontraditional clientele. Ideal candidates are assertive, empathetic, nonjudgmental, and possess excellent communication and time management skills. Schedule. This position is fully Onsite/In-person at the Arapahoe County Detention Facility. The available schedules are: Sunday - Wednesday 8:00 am - 6:30 pm Wednesday - Saturday 8:00 - 6:30 pm Salary for this role. The starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly. $21.03 - $31.56 per hour Bilingual Language Differential Pay. rate depends on language requirements for the position and the candidate's fluency. Employees will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis, equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $3,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or CAC II.
  • Strong interest in working in Mental Health arena
  • Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Basic understanding and ability to work with differing behavioral health presentations.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Required Vaccination and TB Test.

Responsibilities

  • Perform behavioral health and substance use screening.
  • Perform brief mental health and substance use interventions.
  • Assist Inmates with transitional resources.
  • Facilitate referrals to behavioral health providers at discharge from jail.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Serve as liaison between jail, mental health center, and community providers.
  • Enter data into JBBS database.
  • Provide case management as needed; instruct clients in daily living skills.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy.
  • Accurately document interactions in EMR promptly.
  • Attend criminal justice, medical, and other appointments with clients as needed.
  • Staff members will monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the client's care team.
