About The Position

At Lawrenceville Surgery Center, health and care are inseparable, with a mission to care for every patient and their family as if they were their own. The center utilizes technology for surgeons to perform procedures in specialty areas like Orthopedic Pain. The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing continuous, quality nursing care to all patients, continually evaluating their condition, and ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. This role may involve assisting physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and utilizing sterile techniques. The nurse will also provide comprehensive patient care to individuals emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to prepare the patient and family for discharge. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required
  • PALS if required by the center
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times
  • May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate
  • Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
