About The Position

At Orthopaedic South Surgical Center, health and care are inseparable. Their mission is to care for every patient and their family as if they were their own, each patient, each family, each and every time. The center's technology allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of Orthopedic and Pain. The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The nurse may also assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. This role involves providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • PALS if required by the center
  • 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
