You will be leading a hospital that truly shows up for its community. The Role: As the Practice Manager, you are the operational and cultural heartbeat of the hospital. You’ll work side-by-side with the Medical Director to lead the team, drive growth, manage the business, and create an environment where people are proud to work. This is not a “keep-the-lights-on” role.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years of leadership or practice management experience
  • Love people and processes
  • Can read a P&L and explain it in plain English
  • Stay calm, kind, and solutions-focused...even on hard days
  • Believe accountability and empathy go hand in hand
  • Want to grow in your career, not just hold a title

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary hospital experience
  • A background in business, management, or finance
  • Experience with scheduling systems, HRIS/payroll tools, and practice management software
  • A LinkedIn presence and comfort representing your hospital professionally

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with the Medical Director to co-lead the hospital.
  • Building a positive, inclusive culture rooted in Encore’s values: Own it. Share it. Lift it. Celebrate it.
  • Leading and developing people: coaching, accountability, recognition, and growth.
  • Owning hospital operations: schedules, workflows, inventory, safety, facilities.
  • Understanding the numbers (revenue, labor, COGS, EBITDA) and using them to make smart decisions.
  • Collaborating with Encore’s support teams (finance, HR, recruiting, marketing...you’re not alone here!)
  • Keeping the hospital organized, compliant, and running smoothly.
  • Helping the practice grow without burning out the team.
