About The Position

The Manager of Oncology Specialty Services reports to the Director of Oncology. Under limited supervision, the Manager of these specialties is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinic operations in a designated area within MUSC Health Ambulatory clinics including hematology/medical oncology, gynecologic oncology and head and neck oncology. The Manager of Ambulatory Oncology Specialty Services reports to the Director of Oncology Services for the Pee Dee Division. Under limited supervision, the Manager of Ambulatory Oncology Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinic operations in a designated area within MUSC Health Ambulatory clinics. The Manager proactively assesses and implements appropriate processes to ensure that all facets of ambulatory clinic management are effectively addressed. The Manager works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and staff to foster patient access to care, operational efficiency, practice optimization, fiscal integrity, and to foster the delivery of quality patient care experience. This role will work closely with the managers of radiation oncology and oncology infusion to help insure smooth patient experiences through out their oncology experience at MUSC Florence. Manages one or more functional areas of a department. Manages two or more professional and support staff including subordinate supervisors. Typically has hire, fire, or promotion authority. Evaluates and makes improvements to department processes while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws and regulations. More discretion and greater financial authority than other lower management levels. Manage initiatives, strategic priorities and programs which have an impact on the organization. Works independently and in collaboration with leadership to support the budget process and meeting key operational goals. Plans, organizes, facilitates, monitors, and evaluates activities and functions of the department/functional business area-based employee/organizational goals. Collaborates with leaders to establish operating procedures, enhance clinical/non-clinical workflows, increase productivity, and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies within a variety of delivery settings.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care administration required.
Master’s level may be required within 5 years of hire dependent upon position/magnet requirements.
Minimum of two years of prior oncology experience required.
Licensure as a registered nurse (RN) by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
