About The Position

Join RFG Advisory as a Practice Development Strategist and help independent financial advisors grow by diagnosing real problems, configuring the right tools, and delivering outcomes that stick. This role sits at the intersection of solutions architecture, relationship management, and strategic consulting. You’ll carry a book of advisor teams, own their technology outcomes, and serve as their most trusted internal resource: part diagnostician, part builder, part coach. You’re not just supporting the tech stack; you’re shaping how advisors use it, improving it based on what you learn, and advocating internally for what needs to change. RFG Advisory is a platform for growth-minded Independent Advisors who want to scale without compromise, building the RIA of the Future-powered by innovation, collaboration, and execution. The company values taking care of each other, servant hearts, growth mindsets, bold leadership, iteration to excellence, and a commitment to getting 1% better every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • 3+ years in a client-facing technical role: solutions consulting, systems support, implementation, or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, configure, and troubleshoot cloud-based software platforms
  • Hands-on experience with a CRM platform (Zoho, Salesforce, or similar), including record management, workflow configuration, and data hygiene
  • Ability to leverage AI and automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) to improve productivity, quality, analysis, and communication
  • Ability to actively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance client and business outcomes
  • Genuinely curious and empathetic
  • Highly disciplined about follow-through and documentation
  • Comfortable operating without a complete playbook
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Thinks in outcomes, not just activity
  • Curious, adaptable, and growth‑minded, with a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly, experiment thoughtfully, and integrate emerging tools into day‑to‑day work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience owning a book of clients or accounts
  • Comfort with help desk tools
  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or working directly with financial advisors
  • Familiarity with financial planning tools (RightCapital, eMoney, Income Lab, Orion, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Own a book of advisor teams across segments: managing proactive touchpoint cadence, documenting every engagement, and maintaining a clear picture of each practice’s health, goals, and open items
  • Lead new advisor onboarding into RFG’s technology ecosystem: configuring tools, mapping workflows to their practice model, and driving adoption through hands-on enablement, not just training decks
  • Serve as the first line of technical support for your book: diagnosing issues across platforms, resolving what you can and routing what you can’t with full context and urgency
  • Conduct structured discovery with advisors to uncover workflow inefficiencies, tech underutilization, and growth blockers, then translate those findings into actionable recommendations and follow through on delivery
  • Serve as an internal advocate for the advisor experience: bringing pattern-level feedback from your book into cross-functional conversations and helping shape how the service model, tech stack, and internal playbooks evolve
  • Leverage AI-powered tools (including meeting intelligence platforms and CRM automation) to work smarter, document more consistently, and deliver better outcomes for your advisors
  • Stay current on the tools, trends, and expectations shaping the independent advisor space, and bring that perspective back to the team to help RFG stay ahead
