About The Position

Family Practice Associates of Chesterfield (FPAC) is a well-established, independently owned family medicine practice located on the campus of St. Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, Virginia. For more than 45 years, FPAC has been a cornerstone of the community, delivering high-quality outpatient care in a modern, patient-centered environment. Our practice is home to 10 experienced providers —physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants—supported by a dedicated team of 50+ professionals . We offer comprehensive ancillary services, including laboratory, radiology, and behavioral health , all under one roof. We are now seeking an experienced Practice Administrator to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight as we continue to grow and evolve. As Practice Administrator, you will partner closely with the Board of Physician Owners to guide the overall direction of the practice. You will oversee all operational, financial, and human resource functions while leading a strong and collaborative management team that includes: Office Manager Billing Team Lead Front Desk Supervisor Clinical Manager Nursing Supervisor This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who enjoys balancing strategic vision with hands-on operational excellence in a family medicine setting .

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of healthcare and staff management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage physicians, staff, and patients
  • Strong understanding of healthcare finance, budgeting, and performance metrics
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to lead change and execute long-term goals
  • Proven decision-making skills with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing competing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, practice management systems, EMRs, and coding/documentation to support value-based care initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare management, business, or a related field, preferred but equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Hands-on experience in a Family Medicine practice, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for all clinic operations, establishing goals, policies, and systems across departments
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges to ensure efficient, patient-centered care
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, ensuring cost-effective operations and strong revenue cycle outcomes
  • Develop and implement long-term strategic objectives in collaboration with physician owners
  • Partner with the management team on staff selection, training, supervision, and performance management
  • Oversee HR functions (with Office Manager support), including compensation, benefits, payroll, policies, and job descriptions
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and governing bodies (OSHA, HIPAA, OIG, Corporate Compliance, etc.)
  • Collaborate with IT to oversee clinic systems, software applications, and technology purchases
  • Oversee profit-sharing and retirement plans, including employer contributions, compliance testing, and required distributions
  • Use data and analytics to guide operational and financial decision-making
