JHCP is looking for a Practice Administrator I at the Howard County Pediatrics Practice in Columbia, Maryland. The Practice Administrator manages the daily operations of a health center/practice. Daily operations include: budget management and the hiring, supervision, staffing, evaluation and discipline of staff. Works effectively with providers and other staff to develop and implement common priorities and goals related to providing optimal customer service, maximizing operational efficiency, assuring financial viability and rendering high quality health care services. Demonstrate through leadership example, visible organizational support and a positive attitude to create a positive work environment and enhance provider and staff morale. Responsible for fostering a positive relationship with the local community served by the health center. In addition to these Administrative duties, if credentialed as a billable clinician, provides direct patient care in the center/practice, conforming to the pertinent standards of care and under the direction/oversight of the Office Medical Director Location : 6350 Stevens Forest Rd., Columbia, Maryland 21046 Shift : Exempt Full-time - 40 hours per week - Mon-Fri

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or related equivalent experience required.
  • Experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree at a 2:1 ratio. Equivalent would be 8 years of experience for education AND 2 years of supervisory/management experience for a total of 10 years of healthcare experience needed to qualify for PA I .
  • Two years’ of healthcare management is required.
  • Knowledge of healthcare/ambulatory care management.
  • Must demonstrate a record of increasing job responsibility linked to accomplishments in health care management.
  • Experience using a standard personal computer including word processing, spreadsheet software and a computer based patient information system.
  • Collaboratively develop cost-effective annual operating and capital equipment requirements for the practice.
  • Continually review and implement practices to effect cost reductions and increase revenue.
  • Review individual office profit and loss statements with staff monthly.
  • Participates in the development of annual operating and capital budgets while monitoring actual expenditures against the budget.
  • R.N. training and a degree from an approved school of nursing.
  • Current Maryland State Licensure is required.
  • Current CPR certification or ability to successfully complete CPR certification.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients served in the department.
