About The Position

The PowerApps/Power Platform Architect supports the design, development, and implementation of secure, scalable Microsoft Power Platform solutions for federal government customers. This role works closely with program leadership, technical teams, and customer stakeholders to translate mission and business requirements into compliant, user-centric applications. The position is hands-on, balancing solution architecture, technical leadership, and direct development support within regulated federal environments.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of overall IT or application development experience
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
  • Experience supporting federal government programs or federal systems integrators
  • Strong experience with Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate (cloud flows), Dataverse data modeling and security, and Power BI
  • Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, Azure services, and REST APIs
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, SQL, or C# for advanced customization and integrations
  • Understanding of low-code application architecture patterns and enterprise solution design
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Secret clearance, depending on program requirements
  • Due to specific federal contract guidelines, U.S. citizenship is required for this role

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications such as PL-100, PL-200, or PL-400
  • PL-600 (Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect Expert) preferred but not required
  • Azure or security-focused certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement solutions using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI
  • Translate federal business and mission requirements into technical solution designs, data models, and architecture artifacts
  • Support integrations with Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure services, and external systems using APIs and connectors
  • Develop and review technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and design deliverables required for federal programs
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to developers, ensuring adherence to Power Platform best practices and performance standards
  • Participate in hands-on development, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of Power Platform solutions
  • Support environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod), solution packaging, and structured deployment processes
  • Implement role-based security, data access controls, and data loss prevention policies
  • Ensure solutions align with federal security, compliance, and governance requirements (e.g., NIST, FISMA, agency standards)
  • Support Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and stakeholder reviews
  • Collaborate with program managers, business analysts, and government stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and manage technical risks
