About The Position

Power Control Specialist Location: This position can be based out of our Houston or Beaumont branch. Role Purpose: The Power Control Specialist is responsible for driving The Reynolds Company’s business strategy to accelerate sales growth in the Power Control businesses. This business includes low voltage drives, medium voltage drives and motor control centers. This position will be the technical liaison between Rockwell Automation and the distributor, provide technical, marketing, and commercial leadership for sales growth, be responsible to supporting the commercial plan for the Power Control businesses and take a lead role in developing a competency plan to ensure that support functions (inside/outside sales) are adequately prepared to maximize share gain for the Power Control businesses in their selling market. The Power Control specialist will be held accountable on the revenue performance of the assigned product segments. As a Power Control Specialist, you will: Serve as domain expert around Power Control business and continuously build competency. Lead pre-sales and post-sales activities focused on core power products including Component, Architecture, Packaged, and Medium Voltage Drives, and LV and MV MCCs to existing and new customers with presentations, demonstrations, and technical support. Be the technical and customer-facing resource for The Reynolds Company sales team to help accelerate sales growth of the Power Control products and offerings. Be responsible for working with the Power Controls business development manager to develop and implement the Power Control Business strategy and commercial plan for sales growth in conjunction with Rockwell Automation and Reynolds Company leadership. Be responsible for launching new Power Control products and technologies to Reynolds Company sales team and customers. This includes product training, demonstration, competency, working with marketing team, and target account identification with sales team. Have core competency for the current technology and products for Power Control business as it relates to the assigned products and provide competency training for Reynolds sales team and customers as needed. Work with Rockwell Automation Power Control field business leads to provide feedback regarding target accounts and sales growth opportunities, technical and commercial information, new products, promotions, competition, and assistance when required. Participate in account planning and sales strategy focusing on new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion. Provide selection and design advice for most assigned products in common configurations and leverage the proper Rockwell Automation resources, as needed. Be able to differentiate products/solutions from competition and promote the differences as meaningful benefits to the customer. Be responsible for supporting multiple locations as required. Marketing & Sales Skills: Be comfortable influencing customer on value of The Reynolds Company and Rockwell Automation solutions vs competition. Coordinate sales teaming efforts required to identify and close account conversions and target sales opportunities. Be able to motivate, support and lead inside and outside sales teams to proactively implement business plan. Bring strong presentation skills in group and individual situations. Bring strong arbitration skills to effectively listen, communicate, and gain consensus. Respond in a timely manner to customer and sales requests, including outside of normal business hours. Seek out and embrace relevant perspectives when assessing a situation or making a decision; demonstrate clear understanding of multiple viewpoints. Be able to administer and implement marketing, promotion programs, and product launches from Rockwell Automation product businesses. Have the ability to understand market conditions, competitive forces, determine market share, and identify opportunities for growth.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree -OR– equivalent combination of skills, experience, or education
  • 2-5 years of experience / knowledge applying Rockwell Automation’s products or equivalent competitive solutions.
  • Travel to customers within assigned geography will be required.
  • Ability to determine customer needs and to follow through on commitments.
  • Retain and convey a positive attitude in challenging circumstances.
  • The ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills, multi-tasking, detail, and deadline oriented in a fast-paced environment, strong internal and external customer service skills.
  • Good technical writing & presentation skills with ability to present Rockwell Automation’s value proposition to mid / large size groups of customers (external and internal) both commercially and technically.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities
