About The Position

The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems ( VCRWS ) is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral researcher to participate on exciting projects focusing on the environmental aspects of stormwater green infrastructure, as well as perform research . This position directs the operations of the Water Resources Research Lab within the Center for Resilient Water Systems ( VCRWS ). The Position directly supervises undergraduate student workers as well as serves as a team lead for the graduate students who conduct stormwater sampling. Regularly and proactively trains students in lab tasks and safety procedures. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. Requirements

• Ph.D. degree in water resources engineering, civil and/or environmental engineering or closely related field
• Good organizational and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and communicate proactively
• Highly motivated with strong written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with analytical problem solving, creative process design, as well as good oral and written communication skills
• Willing to work closely with Dr. Traver and Dr. Wadzuk as well as with undergraduate and graduate students.

Responsibilities

• Aid in research activities related to the Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems research.
• Responsible for all nutrient and metals analytical testing
• Works with PIs to conduct quality control on data, and maintains data records.
• Ensures that all data is collected with scientific integrity and meets the quality control guidance outlined in the Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Work with existing field, laboratory, and model projects to execute new methods and analysis.
• Actively pursue high quality publications and participate in generating new ideas and writing technical proposals.
