About The Position

Invasive behavior of malignant brain cancer cells is one of the main obstacles in glioblastoma (GBM). A postdoctoral position is available to study the role of axon guidance molecules in driving invasion and infiltrative growth of GBM cells. By combining genetic manipulations, in vivo transplantation models, transcriptomics, coupled with innovative microchannel devices and time-lapse videography, we aim at uncovering novel mechanisms underlying tumor cell migration and invasion into the brain. The Friedel laboratory is surrounded by a rich research environment in the Department of Neuroscience and is part of the Friedman Brain Institute at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Mount Sinai is committed to excellence in education, research, and patient care, applying a unique blend of scientific training and mentoring for postdoctoral fellows in a supportive environment
