About The Position

As a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Morava-Kozicz lab, you will engage in cutting-edge research aimed at unraveling the complex relationship between changes in structure and function, metabolic repercussions, and the brain phenotype observed in individuals with Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation (CDG). This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the identification of new therapeutic approaches to alleviate or reverse this debilitating condition. The project encompasses a diverse array of techniques, including molecular biology, viral vector technology, cell culture, in vitro multi-electrode array recordings, immunohistochemistry, and advanced imaging methods.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D., or M.D., Ph.D. degree with a robust background in relevant disciplines.
  • Demonstrated laboratory experience, with a notable record of first-author publications demonstrating excellence in both written and oral communication.
  • High motivation and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a dynamic research team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in genetics or metabolism research is desirable.
  • Familiarity with induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived disease models is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and conducting studies that encompass a range of techniques, including molecular biology and viral vector technologies, cell culturing, in vitro multi-electrode array recordings, immunohistochemistry, and advanced imaging methodologies.
  • Expected to be on duty for approximately 37.5 hours per week.
