About The Position

This research project in the Sachs laboratory focuses on the development of integrated human organoid and organ-on-chip models that combine cardiac, hepatic, and hematopoietic compartments, to study drug responses and disease mechanisms. Experimental approaches include 3D culture systems, microfluidic platforms, advanced imaging, and quantitative computational analysis.

Requirements

  • Expertise in human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation
  • Expertise in 3D organoid culture
  • Expertise in microphysiological systems
  • Techniques include flow cytometry and cell sorting
  • Techniques include immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy
  • Techniques include qPCR and RNA-based analyses
  • Techniques include protein assays
  • Techniques include functional phenotyping of cardiac, hepatic, and hematopoietic tissues

Responsibilities

  • Experimental design
  • Data analysis
  • Troubleshooting complex multi-lineage systems
  • Contributing to protocol development and optimization
  • Interaction with bioengineering collaborators
  • Operation of automated or semi-automated culture systems
