About The Position

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include receiving advanced pathology training and becoming proficient in coordinating diagnostic case submissions in the Pathology Section of the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. The incumbent will present relevant case material, data summaries, and research findings at professional and stakeholder meetings. After completing appropriate training and demonstrating proficiency, responsibilities include: Case coordination and communicating diagnostic test results to clients. Engage in open discussions with clients regarding testing options. Clinically focused training of veterinary students in diagnostic medicine, with an emphasis on related implications for clinical practice, is expected. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrated interest in food animal production and diagnostic pathology.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory.
  • At least two years of advanced training in histopathology post-DVM.
  • Evidence of scholarship in diagnostic pathology and/or toxicology, including conference presentations or publications.
