We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Associate to join a multidisciplinary research team focused on developing energy-efficient and fault-tolerant AI systems that can operate reliably in the radiation-rich environment of space. The project integrates expertise across multiple levels—from circuits and architectures to algorithms, models, and systems—and includes opportunities for radiation testing at the NASA Space Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI and space electronics, while collaborating with leading researchers at both Stony Brook University and BNL. Under the supervision of Professor Emre Salman in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Stony Brook University, the successful candidate will: Conduct independent research in electrical engineering with applications in robust and efficient AI systems; design and develop circuits, methodologies, research experiments aligned with project goals. Analyze and evaluate experimental and simulation data using advanced and specialized techniques. Prepare manuscripts and technical reports for publication, present findings at lab meetings and potentially at conferences and seminars. Manage lab operations, including mentoring or supervising undergraduate and/or graduate students and research staff; provide training in research methods. Assist in grant writing and preparation of research proposals; identify funding opportunities and participate in training activities. Perform other duties as assigned.
