The Duke Global Health Institute at Duke University is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join our team for 6 months. In this important role, you will work with senior investigators and community partners and assist with collecting and analyzing pilot data and writing scientific grant proposals on community-based interventions for hypertension for major funding agencies under the direction of the principal investigator. You will have the opportunity to work with our students during their research internship on the hypertension project and impact their success.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of a PhD in epidemiology or public health related field
  • Demonstrated success in implementing innovative community-based interventions.
  • Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, preferably first-authors.
  • Highly collaborative approach and demonstrated success in engaging stakeholders in complex organizational landscapes
  • Comfort and skill in planning, adapting, and collaborating with others in the context of ambiguity and change
  • Demonstrated commitment to completing work efficiently and by designated deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare grant budgets
  • The position requires frequent travel and stay in rural counties in North Carolina.
  • This position is hybrid eligible.
  • The position is partially remote, and the employee must reside in a Duke University-approved state.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively support and drive proposal development with the principal and co-investigators
  • Organize study group and stakeholder meetings, integrate feedback, and work on the proposal with the study group under the direction of PI.
  • Lead pilot data gathering and analysis for the proposal as needed
