About The Position
Post Doctoral Scholar to join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The Ohio State University studying electrochemical functionalization of C-H bonds . The Post Doctoral Scholar will embark on a program of independent research with the primary goal to determine ho w efficient synthetic methods for preparing organic molecules . Duties will include conduct ing laboratory work centered around organic synthesis, inorganic synthetic, reaction mechanism investigation ; leading manuscript preparation for submission to peer-reviewed journals ; and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students . Other responsibilities include attending group meeting, managing group logistics .
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry or a related field by the time of hire
- Strong theoretical or practical ba ckground in organic or inorganic chemistry
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining a GCMS, GC, glovebox
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A collaborative mentality towards research and mentoring
- These required and desired skills should be demonstrated through a record of peer-reviewed publications
