The Experimental High Energy Physics ATLAS group within the Department of Physics, College of Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar position that can be based either at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, or at The Ohio State University. A candidate in residence at Ohio State would have the opportunity to participate in detector research and development projects. The group is presently involved in several experimental high energy physics analysis and hardware efforts associated with the ATLAS experiment at CERN. Analysis projects include studies of di-Higgs production, searches for long-lived particles, and searches for dark matter. Hardware projects include research and development in radiation-hard and high-speed wireless communication, high-level trigger systems, and diamond detectors for the HL-LHC upgrade. The Post Doctoral Scholar will take a leading role in one analysis project and contribute to the broader experimental program of the group. This is a term position for a fixed duration, renewable based on performance and availability of funding.
