About The Position

The Strategy, Ethics, and Entrepreneurship Area of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate to begin as soon as August 2026. The research associate will work closely with faculty primarily on research projects focused on business in conflict zones. The successful candidates will have significant experience and expertise with scholarship on responsible business and business in extreme environments. The research associate will be expected to advance several research projects from conceptualization through publication. A portion of time will be devoted to collaborating with faculty with an understanding that effort will also be directed at independent research This is a one-year appointment; however, ideally, it would be renewed for additional one-year appointments, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.

Requirements

  • A PhD from management/business or a related discipline is required.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage and track research projects and collaborate with others.
  • Strong written communication skills are desirable.
  • Knowledge of business and human rights is strongly desired.
