This is a two-year post-doctoral appointment (with possible renewal) to provide advance research training to individuals with a doctoral degree in the biological sciences and to further the basic and translational research goals in the Children's Research Institute. The postdoctoral research fellow will conduct high quality research in basic and translational science. Our laboratory has focused on understanding the mechanism of oncogene- or tumor suppressor-driven cancer progression and identifying novel strategies or compounds targeting cancer-specific events. Our lab specifically focuses on the mutant RAS and the p53 tumor suppressor signaling and takes chemical, biochemical, bioinformatic, and biological (cell culture, mouse models) approaches. We seek individuals with a doctoral degree in the biomedical sciences and to further the basic and translational research goals of the Division of Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant, Department of Pediatrics and the Children's Mercy Research Institute.
