About The Position
The Jung-Kun Lee laboratory's work focuses on the design, processing, and characterization of nanostructured electronic materials for energy and optoelectronic applications. The group develops novel material systems and fabrication strategies to enhance device performance, stability, and scalability, with particular emphasis on perovskite and nanoparticle-based photovoltaic technologies. Their research also explores thin-film deposition and nanomaterial processing techniques to precisely control microstructure, interfaces, and functional properties. In addition, the laboratory investigates the optical and magnetic behavior of nanoscale systems to better understand structure–property relationships and enable next-generation electronic and photonic devices.
Requirements
- Applicant must have a Ph.D. in materials engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely-related field.
- Postdoctoral experience in materials synthesis and characterization, as well as magnetic materials.
- Strong background in materials characterization and synthesis with a focus on electric and optical materials, and technical publications.
- Strong interest in basic and applied research.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team structure delivering project components on given time schedules
- Ability to multi-task
Responsibilities
- Mentoring graduate students
- Writing journal publications, preparing reports that summarize the work conducted for progress reports to funding agencies
- Planning, developing, and implementing technical and scientific research programs
- Contributing to proposal writing and acquisition of preliminary data
