The Portfolio Manager is experienced in commercial credit analysis and will be responsible for assisting in the review and monitoring of commercial loans to help Optum Bank build, maintain, and accurately risk grade its solid commercial credit portfolio. This will involve working closely with other portfolio managers, analysts, underwriters, and credit administration. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing business and personal financial statements associated with loan requests
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing commercial property rent rolls and financial statements
  • 2+ years of experience managing a portfolio of commercial loans, including commercial real estate loans
  • Experience with commercial real estate financing, loan documentation, lending laws, portfolio monitoring, and loan servicing

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal commercial credit training program
  • Experience managing watch list loans and working out problem loans
  • Reside in Utah

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and document loan modification requests and annual loan reviews on existing commercial loans
  • Prepare clear and concise credit presentations for annual reviews, including financial analysis, collateral assessment, risk and mitigant identification, and recommendations for current risk rating
  • Spread borrower and guarantor financial statements, test and monitor financial covenants, perform collateral analysis, and prepare market assessments
  • Update loan metrics and risk ratings accurately and timely
  • May also occasionally perform credit underwriting on new requests by creating credit underwriting memos which analyze the credit request, the borrower, financial and credit information, repayment sources, risks and mitigation, collateral, and compliance with applicable regulations and policies
  • Be knowledgeable of policies, guidelines, procedures, regulations and systems applicable to the credit function
  • Ensure that loan files and documentation are complete
  • Make, recommend, and present credit decisions to credit administration and credit committee through both effective written and verbal communication
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients
  • Assist with timely reporting and analysis of financial information collected from borrowers
