About The Position

It is the responsibility of the Pool Runner to provide prompt, efficient and courteous service; display salesmanship and friendly hospitality. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Requirements

  • Minimum six months previous Food Runner experience required in a high volume Pool operation, preferably in a Hotel/Casino environment with the ability to carry a tray overhead and or push tables.
  • Must have good people skills and a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must be able to take menu orders from guests with proper abbreviations used in food descriptions.
  • Work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
  • Work with others in close spaces.
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet
  • HAZARDS: Kitchen equipment.
  • Constantly walking, standing, eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion, hearing, speaking, seeing and reading.
  • Obtain a Health Card and Union Referral Slip.
  • Minimum age requirement is 16
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-shift meetings.
  • Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.
  • Ensure tables and trays are properly set.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and health and liquor laws.
  • Know all menu service items.
  • Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to the guests.
  • Understanding of order taking and proper abbreviations used in food and beverage descriptions.
  • Communicate status of order to the Cashier or Manager on duty to ensure delivery is made by the specified time.
  • Have working knowledge of pre check and cashier procedures.
  • Serve all food and beverage orders to guests according to established Golden Nugget standards and procedures giving the best service possible in the least amount of time.
  • Resolve any additional guest requests and thank guests when settling their check.
  • Check Cabana’s and Pool area for un-used Room Service items. Gather these items and return them to the Room Service area.
  • Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the manager on duty.
  • Inform Bus person of needed supplies.
  • Complete assigned side work.
  • Assist with maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment.
  • Turnover/takeover station according to established procedures.
  • Complete special projects as requested by Pool Management.
