We have an opportunity for Pool Product Manufacturing Lab Tech III to join our Sanford NC team. You will work with our technical team to develop test methods, set up, and conduct new product performance tests. You will: Set up, troubleshoot, and optimize advanced testing solutions for mechanical, electrical, and electronic water pump/filtration systems using precision instrumentation and automated test equipment (ATE). Assist engineers in diagnosing system and / or component failures, performing root cause analysis with tools such as multimeters, amp meters, flow meters, pressure gages and data acquisition systems. Evaluate and propose improvements for lab testing processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Fabricate advanced test fixtures and tools potentially using cutting tools, PVC gluing, and precision assembly techniques to support prototype and production testing. Independently maintain lab facilities and equipment, including calibration of instruments per industry standards and ensuring accurate documentation to compliance standards / requirements Mentor and guide less experienced technicians on technical troubleshooting and equipment setup Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing automation, data collection, and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve efficiency Stay current with changing regulatory and technical requirements as new standards and technology evolves & ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards Provide support by assisting or acting as Quality Technician to include duties such as troubleshooting daily quality issues in collaboration with Quality Engineers and production teams within an assigned manufacturing area.

Requirements

  • Proficient in product testing and troubleshooting, including electrical, mechanical, and environmental stress testing.
  • Hands-on experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and data acquisition systems in a lab environment.
  • Proven ability to fabricate and assemble custom test fixtures, including proficiency with cutting tools and precision assembly techniques.
  • Advanced instrumentation skills, with hands-on experience with pressure gages, temperature gages, flow meters, signal generators, thermal chambers, electric motors, relays capacitors and vibration test systems.
  • Experience implementing process improvements, such as automation and preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Demonstrate leadership and mentoring abilities to the above duties and responsibilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, applying failure analysis tools to determine root cause
  • Effective communication and documentation skills, including technical reports and test plans.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, managing and reporting on multiple test programs simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and independently on technical tasks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including industry test standards and safety compliance standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a lab environment.
