About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician III (MET3) demonstrates consistent superb proficiency in performing all aspects of automated manufacturing equipment repair, troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive maintenance procedures on equipment. This position also possesses demonstrated knowledge and ability to assist engineers in developing and refining manufacturing processes by utilizing engineering skill sets and techniques. The MET3 must be able to work effectively under minimal supervision. This position reports to the Technical Group Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum educational requirements includes a technical degree or certificate.
  • Minimum experience includes 5-7 years manufacturing experience preferably in a high-volume, applicable industry or in a similar capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLC’s inputs and outputs, pneumatic adjustments, common engineering testing procedures (DOE’s, PFMEA’s, etc.), engineering documentation and reports.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The individual must be able to work effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and management in a team oriented environment.
  • The individual in this position must be able to understand all policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations (including all safety training and safety information) associated with this position that are written in English.
  • In addition, the individual must be able to appropriately respond to these and, where needed, provide reports, presentations, information and communications in English.
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, or weekends, overtime as required.
  • Must possess the ability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex data, drawings, and schematics, to design and implement new equipment or planning new experiments.
  • Requires interpretation of complex data for designing new devices or planning new experiments.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates all MET II essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Train and provide guidance on the mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and manufacturing processes to Manufacturing Engineering Technicians I, II, Leads.
  • Generate and submit supporting documentation for approval such as, but not limited to TI’s, PM’s, SOP’s, engineering reports, test plans and PFD’s.
  • Identify manufacturer’s part information to source replacement and or novel trial parts as well as lock alternate sources for various electronic/mechanical components using online or hard copy catalogs.
  • Work directly with component/equipment vendors to ascertain product specifications and acquire quote for purchase.
  • Generate SYSPRO Purchase requisitions for component and supplies purchase.
  • Possess knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform Design of Experiments in support of quality performance, equipment upgrades and process development.
  • Assist engineering in the design of parts for process and equipment upgrades via sketches and CAD applications.
  • Acquired Test Lab procedure certification in support of critical product quality specifications.
  • Communicate issues and ideas in a professional setting and manner.
  • Lead a project team with documented project management timelines and milestones.
