About The Position

The City of Oakland is currently recruiting to fill multiple part-time Pool Manager positions in Oakland Parks and Recreation Aquatic Centers for both seasonal and year-round employment. Working hours vary from week to week. Pool Managers perform a variety of duties at the City's pools, including planning and implementing aquatics programs, training and direction of part-time staff, and communicating with the public. Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Two years aquatic experience.
• Current Red Cross certifications in Water Safety Instruction, Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR for Lifeguards with AED or CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED.
• Candidates must be at least eighteen (18) years or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Directing the operation of pool facilities and coordinating aquatics programs with the community and department.
• Auditing lifeguard fitness levels, documenting observations, and implementing fitness programs as necessary.
• Overseeing revenue collection, ticket security, and record-keeping.
• Training and supervising aquatics staff according to management directives.
• Coordinating patron registration for instructional programs and overseeing Water Safety Instruction (WSI) facility programs.
• Maintaining equipment, pool supplies, and inventory records, while completing accident, revenue, and discipline reports.
• Ensuring accurate operational and financial records, conducting in-service training, and overseeing staff conditioning programs, along with assigning and supervising custodial duties.
