About The Position

The Pool Manager is responsible for overseeing all pool operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for members, guests, and staff. This role includes managing pool staff, maintaining high service standards, enforcing safety protocols, and overseeing poolside food and beverage service. The Pool Manager collaborates with club leadership to develop and execute programming, special events, and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in pool management, recreation management, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.
  • Knowledge of pool safety regulations, lifeguard procedures, and health codes.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification required (or ability to obtain before the start of the season).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for several hours at a time.
  • Capability to lift and carry trays, dishes, and equipment weighing up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to carry and balance heavy trays with food or beverages.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to climb stairs or maneuver in tight spaces when necessary.
  • Requires fine motor skills to handle table settings, glassware, and serving utensils.
  • Ability to push, pull, or move carts and other banquet equipment.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments with varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food and beverage operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily pool operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise pool staff, including Pool Check-In Attendants, Pool Supervisors and Pool Servers.
  • Ensure all staff comply with club policies, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
  • Monitor pool conditions, including water quality, maintenance needs, and safety hazards, reporting issues to facilities management as needed.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, upcoming events, and service improvements.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by fostering a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests.
  • Address member concerns or complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to enhance poolside dining service, ensuring efficient service and quality standards.
  • Develop and execute pool programming, including swim lessons, member events, and themed pool parties.
  • Oversee enforcement of pool rules, ensuring a respectful and enjoyable environment.
  • Manage payroll, track staff attendance, and ensure proper scheduling to maintain coverage during peak hours.
  • Monitor and manage pool inventory, including towels, supplies, and food and beverage stock.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, incident reports, and staff certifications.
