About The Position

Smoker Craft, Inc currently has an opening for a Pontoon Fence Assembler/Machine Operator! This position works from our plant in New Paris, IN. Starting pay is $20.97/hr. and with positive reviews can be increased to $22.97/hr. after 60 days. After the first week of work, employees are eligible for an Attendance Bonus averaging an additional $68/week! Shift Schedule is 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday-Fridays but can require staying past 2:30 pm as needed. Requirements

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or boat assembly (1-2 years preferred).
  • Ability to read work orders.
  • Experience running benders or similar metal forming machinery.
  • Proficient in using pneumatic rivet guns, screw guns, drills, and grinders.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move 30-45 lbs. stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions (bending, twisting, gripping).
  • High standard of quality to produce aesthetically pleasing rivet finishes and safe, sturdy railings.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial bending machine to shape aluminum rails for pontoon boat fencing.
  • Install and secure aluminum panels into the fabricated fence rails, ensuring a tight, secure fit.
  • Utilize rivet guns, pneumatic screw guns, drills, and other hand tools to secure fence panels and rails.
  • Measure workpieces to ensure conformance to engineering specifications, ensuring all rivets and bolts are secure, and paneling is smooth.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols (wearing PPE) and perform daily preventative maintenance on bending machinery.
  • Manually lift, move, and position aluminum rails and panels weighing 30-45 lbs throughout the assembly process.
