Political Photojournalist
About The Position
WBFF/WNUV is looking for a full-time Political Photographer with a passion for local/national government coverage. The candidate should have 1 year of ENG experience with a network affiliate news organization. Day to day, you will cover local Baltimore City and Maryland politics, as well as in-depth investigative assignments. Covering the 90-day legislative session will also be a requirement. WBFF is shooting full high definition (HD) on media cards and editing on desktops and laptops utilizing the Adobe suite. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, a strong understanding of creating text-on-screen graphics and document manipulation, possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. A strong interest to grow in the world of political reporting is absolutely essential in this position.
Requirements
- At least (1) year of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photography equipment
- Team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
- Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and be able to operate ENG news vehicles
- Ability to edit and shoot general assignment stories, lives shots and natural sound packages
- Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to do sit-down interviews with multiple cameras including secondary gear like DSLRs, Osmo/GoPro, and phone
- 1 year of ENG experience with a network affiliate news organization
