The PMEL Technician applies comprehensive metrology principles to all measurement disciplines to calibrate and repair Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in support of the US Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program at specified locations. This role involves troubleshooting, aligning, repairing, modifying, calibrating, and certifying TMDE in accordance with requirements of the PWS, TO 00-20-14, AFI 21-113, AFI 21-101 and other applicable directives. The technician will provide advanced calibration and repair services on electronic, electro-mechanical, physical, dimensional, mechanical, and optical TMDE, including specialized equipment in 68-degree rooms, fiber optic, sound, vibration, illuminance, noise, flow, primary pressure, and Air Force Note Coded TMDE. Daily operations must be performed in accordance with established safety and security practices and ensure Quality Management System (QMS) goals are met or exceeded. The technician may also participate in root cause analysis, provide technical guidance and training to other technicians, and interface with customers to report and resolve calibration/maintenance issues and limitations.
