About The Position

This role is for a PM Server at Grace Restaurant within Carnegie House, a 21-room boutique inn located in State College, PA. Carnegie House is part of the Shaner Hotel Group, an award-winning hospitality owner-operator and management company with over 65 properties across 14 states and four countries. The inn offers a serene retreat with luxurious yet relaxed lodging and premier amenities, guided by the principle of "Ceud Mile Failte" (One Hundred Thousand Welcomes). The PM Server is responsible for ensuring compliance with daily operational procedures, maintaining food and beverage safety and quality, and communicating effectively with management and staff. The position requires availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in a similar position dealing with the public.
• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training.
• Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS).
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.

Nice To Haves

• Some college preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department.
• Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications.
• Ensures communication with General Manager, all other Department Managers, Supervisors and Staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Take food and beverage orders, retrieve, and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently.
• Collect payments.
• Also assists in the maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment.
