General Overview: Preventive maintenance technicians are responsible for ensuring that machinery and equipment operate efficiently by conducting regular/daily maintenance checks and repairs to prevent premature equipment failures. As a maintenance PM Tech, you will provide maintenance support to all departments through daily PMs, and ensures all machinery and equipment are in safe working order within the facility. Performs the daily PMs as assigned and supports the overall maintenance process in the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Having experience in an industrial setting is a strong plus
  • Technical degree in a mechanical discipline is a strong plus.
  • Previous Forklift and Fall Protection training a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Attends daily startup meeting.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential issues before they lead to failures. This includes checking fluid levels, wear and tear on parts, and overall equipment condition.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as changing filters, lubricating parts, and replacing worn components to ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of PM maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements, to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies and enters it into the CMMS System (FIIX).
  • Helps other Maintenance Techs as directed by Group Leader or Maintenance Manager.
  • Preventive maintenance technicians may also be required to aid/perform building and grounds maintenance, including tasks like painting, plumbing, and minor construction work.
  • Reviews the FIIX maintenance system and performs scheduled PMs (Preventive Maintenance).
  • During PM, it may be required to repair hydraulic and pneumatic hoses/components.
  • Determines and lists parts to be replaced or repaired and works with Group Leader or Maintenance Manager to order replacement parts.
  • Helps the management team controls inventory of support PM supplies.
  • Assures that proper care is taken for all maintenance equipment used in PM process.
  • Cleans and inspected all mechanical parts during PM process to ensure that they are properly functioning and replace worn-out parts immediately, reducing machine breakdowns.
  • Meticulously documents preventative maintenance activities, including service dates, replacement information and cost estimates to keep accurate records.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss strategies on how best to maintain machinery & keep it working at optimal levels during peak seasonal periods.
  • Maintains good housekeeping of company & personal tools/supplies/etc. in the maintenance shop and follows 5S system.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Always wears proper PPE and always works safe in all areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager or the Group Lead.
