This role is ideal for a skilled apprentice plumber with 5 or more years of hands-on commercial and/or industrial experience who can confidently work independently while supporting a Journeyman or Lead Plumber. You’ll play a critical role in installations, troubleshooting, and delivering high-quality plumbing work while continuing to advance your trade and career.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of commercial and/or industrial plumbing experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing codes, industry best practices, and safety standards.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs, work at heights and on ladders, and perform work in hot, cold, outdoor, or confined-space environments.
  • Proven ability to work independently, follow direction, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently or under the direction of a Journeyman or Lead Plumber to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems on commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Perform rough-in, finish, and service work, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Measure, cut, thread, glue, solder, and braze piping systems including PVC, CPVC, copper, PEX, and cast iron.
  • Set, connect, test, and troubleshoot plumbing fixtures such as lavatories, water closets, floor drains, carriers, and water heaters.
  • Hang, support, and pressure-test piping systems in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, elevations, and isometric drawings; verify layouts and material takeoffs.
  • Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools including threaders, bandsaws, and press tools.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols, including PPE, lockout/tagout, ladder and scaffold use, and confined-space procedures.
  • Document completed work using photos and checklists; assist with site logistics and material coordination.
  • (Service track, when applicable) Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and respond to emergency service calls.
  • Provide guidance and support to less-experienced apprentices as needed.
