About The Position

The Apprentice Plumber assists licensed plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in commercial, and/or industrial settings. This role is designed to provide hands-on training and develop the skills necessary to progress toward Journeyman licensure. Most of the projects that are performed by NHI Commercial are directly related to multi-family housing. This means that in many cases, projects are performed within occupied units and communities, and it is the expectation of NHI Commercial that all employees act with a high level of professionalism. In many cases, you will be expected to swap out tub/surrounds, toilets, and other plumbing fixtures on a regular basis. Pay Range: $18 - $24/hr. (Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications) Benefits Include: Health/Dental/Paid Vacation/401(k) Many jobs are based on government contracts and fall under prevailing wage. Requirements

• A valid driver's license
• High school diploma or GED required
• Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in a registered plumbing apprenticeship program
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ pounds

• Prior construction or trade experience
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
• Self-starter, motivated

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, including piping, fixtures, and equipment
• Measure, cut, and assemble pipes using hand and power tools
• Support the installation of water supply, drainage, and venting systems
• Maintain a clean and safe job site in compliance with safety standards
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment as needed
• Follow blueprints, specifications, and instructions from supervisors
• Learn and adhere to local plumbing codes and regulations
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
