About The Position

As major pursuits such as the Next-Gen Single Aisle Commercial Aircraft, the US Department of Defense Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) initiative, and other opportunities associated with the Collins ‘Big 7’ increasingly become nearer, the Collins Aerospace Strategic Business Units (SBU) tasked with designing, developing, and delivering on these endeavors requires improved effectiveness and a transformative capability revolution to perform their tasks to stay competitive and meet the increasing demands of our Aerospace & Defense customers. Engineering Enablement & Solutions is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to be the Collins Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System Lead, leading the PLM System which is a critical digital information management system leveraged by the Collins Engineering workforce. The Collins PLM system is central to the overarching Collins Connected Engineering System, the comprehensive digital system leveraged by the 20,000+ engineers across Collins Aerospace. The Collins Engineering workforce is composed of 9 STEM families, and the Collins Connected Engineering System will enable all 9 STEM families to unlock their skills and strengths through holistic capability enablement solutions. The need to modernize and transform this system is real, but so is the need to maintain execution excellence with the current configuration. This Senior Principal Systems Engineer is responsible for championing systems engineering practices and principles into the architecture, design, development, verification, validation, and management of all configurations of the Collins PLM system within the Collins Connected Engineering System. The engineer who fills this role will be accountable for development and maturation of the systems engineering artifacts for the Collins PLM system and ensure the Collins PLM system meets the functional and non-functional requirements of its consumers and stakeholders. The engineer who fills this role will leverage agile processes and an agile mindset for workflow management and provide PLM-centric technical leadership to internal and external stakeholders. This is a hybrid role that requires proximity to a major Collins Aerospace site.
