Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have good math and money handling skills.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must successfully complete applicable alcohol training certification course.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to obtain a Gaming Permit.
- Must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification course.
- Must have 10-key calculator and keyboarding skills.
- Must also have previous experience with jet sort, coin roller, check cashing and credit card cash advance systems.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for new player card signups.
- Responsible for player card reprints.
- Responsible for player card pin reset.
- Assists and promotes Penn Play App activation, Penn Wallet, and Penn Wallet Deposits.
- Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Maintains knowledge of property information.
- Any and all duties assigned by leadership.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
- Notifies Leadership of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity.
- Ensures compliance with currency transaction requirements, Title 31, and money laundering and Suspicious Activity Reporting for Casinos (SARC) requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of and enforcing all gaming laws and regulations which apply to the functions and duties of the Player Services Department (Cashier).
- Exchanges cash, coins, tokens and chips in accordance with established procedures (Cashier).
- Assists guests with completion of credit applications (Cashier).
- Cashes personal, travelers and payroll checks in compliance with approved procedures, and performs credit card advances (Cashier).
- Records any applicable federal cash transactions (Cashier).
- Issues and receives payments on markers (Cashier).
- Balances bank at end of shift (Cashier).
- Keeps daily balance sheet of amount and number of transactions (Sports Writer/Main Banker).
- Writes, verifies, and makes payments on tickets for race and sports wagers in accordance with established guidelines (Sports Writer/Main Banker).
- Maintains an accurate cash bank for assigned shift and responsible for accepting payment and making correct changes when necessary (Sports Writer/Main Banker).
- Stocks Race & Sports Book Teller stations with necessary supplies and keeps all stations neat and clean (Sports Writer/Main Banker).
- Makes accurate payments on winning tickets in accordance to established guidelines (Sports Writer/Main Banker).
- Maintains and reconciles bank for assigned shift according to variance policy (Sports Writer/Main Banker).
- Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests (Sports Writer/Main Banker).
