About The Position

Reporting to the VP, Infrastructure & IT, the Platform Engineer will work with Infrastructure, IT, Engineering, Architecture and SRE teams to build a stable and resilient platform to bring value to our customers through high quality software. They should have a hands-on background in software development and infrastructure management as they will use both heavily for their responsibilities. They will regularly collaborate with teams inside and outside technology to ensure that our platform is optimized to best serve our customers.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a software engineer, platform engineer, SRE, or DevOps engineer in production environments.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g. C#, Python, Java)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including .Net, SQL Server and Powershell
  • Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Experience designing systems with security, reliability, and scalability in mind.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service tooling.
  • Strong logical and problem-solving skills
  • Superior and proven attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent teamwork and independent decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain internal platforms that support application development, deployment, and runtime operations.
  • Build reusable infrastructure components, APIs, and tooling that enable teams to self-serve common needs (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, environment provisioning, service templates).
  • Develop platform services using infrastructure-as-code and software engineering best practices.
  • Manage networking, compute, storage, and identity systems that underpin production workloads.
  • Partner with application teams to understand pain points and reduce friction in the development lifecycle.
  • Create clear documentation, examples, and standards that help teams adopt platform capabilities effectively.
  • Embed reliability and security best practices into platform primitives by default.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and visibility.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD systems that support automated testing, deployment, rollback, and promotion strategies.
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks to reduce manual effort and human error.
  • Continuously improve deployment safety, speed, and repeatability.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, security, and infrastructure teams.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize infrastructure and tooling based on evolving business and technical needs.
  • Ensure infrastructure is standardized, reproducible, and well-documented.
  • Enable engineering teams to deploy and operate services faster with less friction.
  • Facilitate the platform evolving in response to real developer needs and business priorities.
