Platform Engineer, GTM

BlandSan Francisco, CA
5h$120,000 - $160,000Onsite

About The Position

At Bland, we’re building the most human AI phone agents in the world. We’re a Series B startup backed by Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, and the founders of PayPal and Twilio, and we’ve raised $65M to reimagine the future of customer communication. Today, we’re a 60 person team powering voice automation for companies like Better.com, helping them deliver friendly, helpful, and human-like conversations at massive scale. Why This Role Exists We are building a centralized platform team to own all internal systems, covering revenue tooling, HR, finance, security enablement, and observability. Instead of scattered ownership, everything runs through one intake, one roadmap, and one engineering function. You’ll help architect and build that foundation. If you see a system that feels manual, fragmented, or fragile, you fix it. This role starts with GTM infrastructure (HubSpot + Clay) and expands into automation, integration infrastructure, and reliability across the company.

Requirements

  • Graduating (or recently graduated) in CS or a similar technical field
  • Have built real things — internships or serious projects with production-level code
  • Can take an ambiguous problem, design an approach, and unblock yourself without hand-holding
  • Bias toward shipping — move fast, but don’t cut corners on quality
  • Want real ownership early, not a ticket-taking role

Responsibilities

  • Build the GTM Engine
  • Design and own our HubSpot data model (objects, workflows, scoring, reporting)
  • Build enrichment and outbound automation in Clay
  • Write scripts and services to integrate product data into revenue systems
  • Build dashboards and data pipelines for full funnel visibility
  • Engineer End-to-End Integrations
  • Design and implement APIs and automation connecting revenue, finance, and internal systems
  • Eliminate manual workflows with code, not process
  • Debug and refactor brittle integrations for long-term reliability
  • Build for Reliability
  • Implement logging, retries, and error handling across integrations
  • Monitor systems for data drift and silent failure
  • Improve internal observability and incident workflows
  • Support Security & Internal Tooling
  • Integrate identity and access controls into internal systems
  • Improve automation across HR, finance, and corporate tooling
  • Build infrastructure that scales without increasing headcount

Benefits

  • Salary: $120k to $160k base + meaningful equity + benefits.
  • Location: Gorgeous office in Jackson Square, San Francisco (rooftop views and great coffee shops nearby)
