Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years field experience in Engineering.
  • Requires individual with strong background in injection and compression molding
  • Candidate must have experience in process optimization through learned or exhibits the ability to develop new technologies that enhance ROI/EBIT increase
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to work collaboratively with product development teams, PLM, and internal and external Mold shops to ensure platform success
  • Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 – 12 point font at a distance of 12 – 18 inches.
  • Speak, write, and read effectively in English.
  • Computer literate.
  • Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.

Responsibilities

  • Use caution and support facility systems to assure safety event free facilities.
  • Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.
  • Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity.
  • Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Amcor employees, and proper maintenance / security of Amcor equipment.
  • Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in associated training.
  • Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Respond to non-established procedures if they should arise.
  • Provide input to Product Development regarding mold or tooling design and sign-off on final design.
  • Work with all plants on tooling issues.
  • Promote problem solving and data utilization that leads to the development of cross-platform technologies in varying molding processes
  • Work with the plants on installation and start-up of all new molds or tooling.
  • Optimize the performance of all molds or tooling within area of discipline.
  • Conduct an Audit of current compression technologies and injection technologies platforms to identify underutilized resources.
  • Implement strategies to maximize efficiency and output based on cross-referencing the different technologies and products.
  • Work with plant operations to provide input on continuous improvement of the tooling department.
  • Track mold or tooling prices for all projects to assure we are getting the best value.
  • Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements.
