UPHS - Marquette is a 222 bed hospital in Marquette, MI and houses the region's only Level II Trauma Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Plant Operations Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to all facility activities, CMMS work order coordination, database management, daily office operations, coordination of budgeting/ accounting systems, maintaining office records, and management of all outside contractors

Requirements

  • Associates Degree Required, Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the daily administration of the department.
  • Contacts vendors and suppliers and solicits information and pricing.
  • Processes orders for supplies, materials and equipment from various vendors and suppliers for department activities including planning/construction/renovation and signage and property management.
  • Enters purchase requisition data in materials management system.
  • Reconciles purchase order price discrepancies with manufacturer, distributor and account payable as necessary.
  • Places, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages.
  • Directs emergency and high priority work requests appropriately.
  • Works independently or with minimal supervision to plan, implement, and coordinate special projects.
  • Acts as liaison for department by communicating assignments at Director's discretion.
  • Acts as primary contact for leased property and clinics to include responding to phone calls and coordinating repairs with departments.
  • Maintains and updates administrative policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates monthly general move for furniture, Plant Operations items and metal recycle.
  • Manages excess furniture inventory at offsite location.
  • Attends, participates, educates, prepares agendas, documents minutes, completes tracers and reports for Life Safety and Environment of Care.
