Plant Nursery Supervisor
About The Position
The Bruce Company is seeking a strong leader with solid plant knowledge to guide their nursery team in growing trees and shrubs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, developing people, and building efficient, healthy production systems. The Nursery Supervisor will oversee the daily tasks of the nursery team and support field operations at the Belleville/Verona, WI location. Additionally, this position includes performing Assistant Snow Route Manager duties during the winter season as required. The Bruce Company is one of the largest locally owned nurseries, established in 1968, and is recognized as Southern Wisconsin’s leader in landscaping.
Requirements
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong horticulture/plant knowledge; pruning + pest/disease ID
- Hands-on work ethic — enjoys being outdoors
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain pesticide license
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and motivate a positive nursery team
- Plan and oversee field production: planting, pruning, digging, staking & overall plant health
- Support seasonal planning and keep work on schedule
- Identify pests/disease and recommend solutions
- Operate equipment (tractor, skid steer, etc.)
- Help with winter snow operations
