Requirements

  • Education/Experience: BS Degree in a technical field, or 5 to 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience and responsibilities, 3 of which must be in a supervisory capacity.
  • Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
  • Hardworking.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend written instructions and basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, electrical meters, gauges and test equipment.
  • Ability to satisfactorily perform all tasks with the department.

Responsibilities

  • The Plant Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing the decommissioning of power distribution equipment in a manner that meets regulatory standards and supports profitability.
  • Manages all aspects of plant operations and maintenance, including the development of policies, procedures, and production goals.
  • Ensures the facility operates efficiently and safely while maintaining a skilled and motivated workforce aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Direct and manage plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure that total production objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain and monitor plant facilities and equipment, making replacements or adjustments as needed to ensure proper function and efficiency.
  • Implement contingency plans as needed; lead plant response during production issues or emergencies; identify, troubleshoot, and escalate problems while offering process improvement recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including but not limited to environmental, employment, OSHA, and DOT, per the direction of the Directors of Environmental Compliance and Human Resources/Safety.
  • Ensure the plant environment remains clean, well-organized, and free of hazards to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Support a positive and collaborative work environment by maintaining effective communication and teamwork with all personnel.
  • Promote and represent the company’s goals and mission while enhancing its public image.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities to effectively lead facility personnel in accordance with direction from the District Manager.
  • Maintain a qualified and capable staff aligned with operational goals.
  • Communicate performance expectations and responsibilities clearly to assigned personnel.
  • Define measurable performance standards and regularly evaluate employee progress.
  • Recommend hires, salary adjustments, transfers, promotions, and dismissals, with prior approval from the Director of Human Resources.
  • Ensure all assigned personnel receive appropriate training to perform their roles effectively.
  • Foster a cooperative and productive work environment that promotes high morale and employee engagement.
  • Develop team members for future advancement within the organization.
  • Perform all responsibilities in a timely, effective manner in accordance with established company policies.
  • Establish and monitor plant-wide performance against production and quality standards.
