About The Position

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of operations at our Northern Kentucky digital print and distribution center. This role oversees digital web inkjet production, finishing, warehousing, and outbound distribution, ensuring that safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving processes, and using data to drive decisions. Requirements

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, print, or operations.
  • Experience leading supervisors and/or managers.
  • Strong operational and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use data and metrics to manage performance.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with digital print or high-speed production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality expectations.
  • Lead investigation and corrective action for quality issues and customer feedback.
  • Own quality system requirements, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are documented, followed, and improved.
  • Lead daily operations across digital print production, finishing, and shipping functions.
  • Develop and execute production and fulfillment schedules aligned to customer commitments and plant capacity.
  • Balance throughput, uptime, changeovers, and labor utilization to meet service and cost goals.
  • Partner with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and preventive maintenance discipline.
  • Prepare the facility to perform effectively during peak educational demand cycles.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors and managers.
  • Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and respectful work environment.
  • Support training, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Encourage problem-solving, ownership, and continuous improvement at all levels.
  • Establish and maintain a regular operating rhythm using key performance metrics.
  • Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, throughput, labor efficiency, and waste.
  • Use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to improve scalability, efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, IT, and Finance teams.
  • Align customer commitments with operational capabilities.
  • Communicate clearly regarding capacity, risks, and recovery plans.
  • Represent the facility with internal partners and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the plant operating budget and performance against plan.
  • Understand key cost drivers and support cost-effective decision making.
  • Participate in capacity planning and capital investment discussions.
