About The Position

The Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals facility, which provides customized toll manufacturing services to external customers. This role leads day-to-day plant operations, oversees alkoxylation production activities, and ensures that customer requirements are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The Plant Manager plays a critical leadership role in supporting ALTIVIA’s customer-focused tolling model, leveraging the site’s two alkoxylation reactors and flexible hydrophobe capabilities to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a plant or operations leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with batch chemical processing; alkoxylation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of PSM, OSHA, environmental regulations, and chemical safety practices.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage both people and complex operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in toll manufacturing or customer-driven production environments.
  • Familiarity with handling a variety of hydrophobes and specialty chemical feedstocks.
  • Experience supporting customer audits and custom manufacturing agreements.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including MOC, PHA participation, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure safe operation of alkoxylation reactors and associated chemical handling systems.
  • Direct daily manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution to meet customer tolling commitments.
  • Optimize reactor utilization, throughput, and turnaround times while maintaining product quality.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure equipment reliability and operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, efficiency, yield, and cycle time.
  • Support customer onboarding, new product introductions, and scale-up activities for toll manufacturing partners.
  • Collaborate with commercial, technical, and customer-facing teams to ensure customer specifications and timelines are met.
  • Serve as the primary site leader for customer audits, visits, and technical discussions related to plant operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop plant personnel, including operators, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Build a high-performance, accountable team with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and competency development for all operational roles.
  • Ensure adherence to quality systems, standard operating procedures, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Oversee investigations and corrective actions related to quality deviations or process upsets.
  • Maintain readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Manage plant operating budgets and control manufacturing costs.
  • Support capital planning, project execution, and long-term site strategy.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, production, quality, and cost.
