About The Position

Maksteel is looking for a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager would lead and manage the manufacturing operations for our Wyoming MI facility. This person will deliver the expected results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, People and Profitability. This position will be responsible for managing daily capacity utilization, ensuring plant operations are following regulatory and company quality requirements, and that the facility meets or exceeds safety standards. This position will report to the Director of Operations.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of manufacturing management experience
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and tools used in the manufacturing industry
  • Strong employee and safety leadership experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, suppliers, and customers
  • Possess principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Possess a working knowledge of shop math, basic engineering, and business calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage entire plant operations including safety, quality, production, maintenance, shipping & receiving.
  • Improves production quality, output, delivery performance, predictability and profitability through effective planning, metrics, and training. Communicate clear metrics to measure improvement
  • Participates in planning, development, implementation & evaluation of strategic business and performance goals and objectives.
  • Implement capital projects and training programs to attain volume and productivity goals
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Monitor employee production and attendance reports to ensure performance and attendance standards are being met and take appropriate action as necessary.
  • Proactively partner with the New Product Development/Rollout initiatives, program expansions, and other marketing-driven programs
  • Complete annual performance appraisals and review with direct reports
  • Develop ongoing performance comments for staff.
  • Coordinate and compile operating and capital budgets and plans.
  • Consult with vendors on tooling, machinery, and miscellaneous supplies to maintain relationships and answer questions.
