About The Position

As the Plant Manager, you will development of site strategies to support the overall company goals and objectives of the plant operations for our 400+ employee manufacturing facility located in Brookings, SD. This role is responsible for executing the strategy that delivers the operational efficiency necessary to maintain high-quality standards, enhance safety measures, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and provides fuel for our Positive Associate Relations (PAR) culture.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering; Manufacturing or Industrial preferred
  • 8 years’ experience in manufacturing leadership
  • Experience in Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Deep understanding of how to balance the focus on continuous improvement with safety, health, and environmental business requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to balance the strategic and hands-on requirements in manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience managing manufacturing operations of similar scale (300+ employees or equivalent complexity)
  • Strong knowledge of safety leadership, KPI management, and LEAN/continuous improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate large, diverse teams
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop Teams: Provide coaching to frontline leaders and staff; encourage engagement, communication, and collaboration.
  • Champion Safety: Lead safety programs, enforce compliance, and cultivate a zero‑incident culture.
  • Implement LEAN & CI: Promote LEAN manufacturing principles, identify improvement opportunities, and reduce waste.
  • Drive KPI Achievement: Oversee plant performance across safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity metrics.
  • Support Positive Employee Relations: Partner closely with HR; maintain open communication, fairness, and a strong team culture.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, senior leadership, suppliers, and community partners.
  • Oversee Daily Operations: Ensure smooth and efficient production, resource planning, and equipment reliability.
